Frames:
Made from cellulose acetate. A renewable, plant based material derived from wood pulp. There is no oil or mining involved in the manufacturing of our sunglasses frames like there is with traditional plastic.

Benefits:
- Stronger than traditional plastic. More impact resistant and flexible allowing for a longer lifespan
- Hypoallergenic
- More comfortable as it is a soft/smooth material
- Unique colorways and transparency

Lenses:
Triacetate cellulose lenses are made up of 6 unique layers offering optimal clarity, UV protection and durability.

6 unique layers:
Polarization layer - this central layer is responsible for reducing 99% of glare by filtering out reflected light from surfaces like water, snow or roads.
Benefits: Provides clear, comfortable vision and reduces eye strain. Also improves clarity.

UV400 protection layer - responsible for blocking out 100% of UVA/B rays up to 400 nanometers. This is the maximium protection you can get for your eyes.
Benefits: Protecting your eyes from UV damage.

Scratch resistant layer - This is a coating that protects the lenses from scratches.
Benefits: Longer lasting eyewear and clearer lenses.

Anti-reflective layer - Minimizes reflections especially from the backside of the lens.
Benefits: Improves visual comfort and reduces eye strain.

Impact resistant layer - Adds strength to the lenses, making them less likely to break during impact.
Benefits: Increasing the lifespan of the glasses, less likely to break when dropped or squashed.

Hydrophobic and Oleophobic layer - Repels water, oil and dust from the lens surface.
Benefits: Keeps the lenses clear, clean and easy to maintain.

Hinges:
Heavy duty hinges made from nickel silver.

Benefits: Optimal durability, less likely to break when dropped, stretched or squashed.

Wire Core:
This is the "pin" in the arms of our sunglasses, also made from nickel silver.

Benefits: Extra durability and enhanced stiffness. (Without this the arms would be extremely flexible)
Added unique aesthetics and luxury feel.

To prevent scratches and marks on your case, we use Heaps Good FSC certified kraft paper. It is compostable and recyclable giving you the option of how to dispose it.

They are then sent to you in Heaps Good eco mailers, which is a plant based, compostable material.

To protect your sunglasses during delivery, we send them the exact same way they are sent to us from our manufacturer, wrapped in the microfiber cloth and pouch.

We have removed all the plastic from our production line from the manufacturing stages, our big stock orders, right through to the moment they land at your door.

Warranty:
We are so confident in the strength and durability of our sunglasses, that we back them with a 90 day warranty. If you break them within 90 days, please send us a photo and a brief description of how you broke them to hello@shadeeyewear.com.au. Please include your order number in the subject line, or reply to one of our confirmation emails you have already received.

Please note, this warranty does not cover scratched lenses, nor does it cover sunglasses that were broken due to being sat or stood on. We trust the strength and durability in our sunnies 100%, so treat them with respect and they will last for years.

Shade Eyewear uses TerraCycle Zero Waste Boxes to recycle your old eyewear. Once the Zero Waste Box is full we ship it back to TerraCycle to recycle the contents into raw materials that are used by manufacturers to make new products.

When your sunglasses are getting old and need replacing, send us an email at hello@shadeeyewear.com.au. We will send you a pre paid label to send your sunnies back for proper recycling, along with a $30 voucher to go towards your next pair.
